Maria Paschalidou

Maria Paschalidou is a visual artist, photographer and researcher. She focuses on the expanded uses of photography, video as post-production and the performativity of the lens-based media using participatory practices and installations. She holds a Ph.D. in Lens-based Media (De Montfort University, UK) and an MFA in Photography (Columbia College Chicago, USA). She also studied Economics (BA, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki) and Photography (Focus School of Photography & New Technologies, Athens). She is currently a Fellow of the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) for the completion of her postdoctoral research which is being developed in collaboration with the Department of Social Anthropology (Panteion University, Athens). Her artwork has been presented in Europe, USA, Canada, Russia, Australia and Asia and published in exhibition catalogues and book editions.
