Summary

The Golden Dawn trial was a continuous process marked by the witnesses’ and defendants’ testimonies, as well as the assessment of the material evidence and the case-file. It was a painful retrospective flashback to the past: from the assassination of Pavlos Fyssas and Shehzad Luqman to the assassination attempt against the Egyptian fishermen, the PAME trade-unionists, the antifascists of the Anarchist Centre “Antipnia” and a series of attacks against migrants and people who found the courage to protest or to stand up against the Nazi organisation “Golden Dawn”. It has been a continuously evolving process in constant interaction with society, even in the absence of the press (with the exception of a few but important journalists). This was demonstrated on the day of the verdict too. The following text and interview reflect the thoughts, feelings and concerns that engaged us throughout this process. The interview of Chrisa Papadopoulou is a touching piece of our effort to think back on this process, from our viewpoint as observers of this trial.
