Vassilis Noulas and Kostas Tzimoulis
BIO
Vassilis Noulas is a theatre director and founding member of the performance group Nova Melancholia. He studied Drama at the University of Athens, Visual Arts at the ASFA and pursued postgraduate studies at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3. His work has been presented at the Athens Festival, the Onassis Cultural Center, the National Opera House, the Athens Biennale, as well as in squats, apartments, and self-managed spaces. He is the author of five books of poetry and small prose. “The Lair”, his first feature film, premiered at the Thessaloniki Festival 2019. In the recent years he has taken part in several bottom-up city movements: Mavili Collective, Theatre Embros Occupancy, Green Park Occupancy. He has been collaborating since 2014 with Kostas Tzimoulis on their joint visual project VASKOS. Kostas Tzimoulis is a visual artist based in Athens. He studied visual arts at the ASFA and pursued postgraduate studies at Westminster University, London, and the Dutch Art Institute, Arnhem. He has presented five solo exhibitions in Athens, Thessaloniki, Belgrade, and Sarajevo. Since 2014, he has collaborated with Vassilis Noulas in their common visual project VASKOS. He is a member of the performance group Nova Melancholia. He was an active member of the Green Park cultural occupancy (2015-2017) and co-organized the DIY Performance Biennial “No Future” (Green Park, Athens & Kythira, June 2016).
