Fotini Tsibiridou, Dr. of EHESS (Paris), Professor of Social Anthropology (Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki). She teaches on the Balkans and the Middle East, the relationship between the European North and the Global South. Her research deals with minority and gender difference, power and religion, state culture and social movements. She has conducted fieldwork in Greece, Turkey and the Sultanate of Oman. She has published books and studies in Greek, English and French, and has also been involved in the production of ethnographic documentaries.
