BIO

Maria Liapi is a sociologist-researcher and member of the board of the Centre Diotima, a non- profit women’s organization. She has participated in national and European research projects on the issue of gender equality. She coordinates the provision of support services (psycho-social support, empowerment and legal aid) to refugee and local survivors. She has been actively engaged in the protection of the rights of diverse excluded social groups through her participation in networks, working groups, activism etc. She is an active member of the feminist movement in Greece and member of the editorial team of the feminist journal feministiqá.
