Abstract

This essay is an extended version of the essay that was read at the presentation of Chloe Kolyri’s book Gender as a lure. Psychoanalysis, Politics and Art (Patakis, 2017), held at the bookstore Epi Lexi on April 24th, 2018. The aim of this essay is to delineate the book’s main points and, subsequently, some thoughts on gender in modern biopolitical societies.

Vasia Lekka holds a PhD in European History (University of Athens) and has taught at the University of Athens and the Hellenic Open University. Her most recent book, along with T. Lagios and G. Panoutsopoulos, is Borders, Bodies and Narratives of Crisis in Europe (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018).
